This was our second visit to John and Mary in the space of a week.
Their hospitality and attention to detail are second to none. A welcoming glass of prosecco on arrival, spotless comfortable room, outstanding breakfast and amazing scenery couldn't ask for more. The weather was fantastic and John took us on a memorable boat trip to see his mussel farm. We shall return!

Mary and John are spectacular hosts and spending one night at Seavilla when walking the Beara Way in 2020 was definitely one of our highlights. They are just so kind and warm people and made us feel welcome at every stage. To begin with, they were very accommodating when we slightly had to change our itinerary because of a storm. Next, John picked us up in Ardgroom as Seavilla is a few kilometers off the trail and insisted on carrying our backpacks. Arriving at Seavilla, it's a stunning villa in beautiful surroundings. You could tell that walkers are very welcome. John immediately took our shoes, stuffed them with newspapers and put them in a shed to dry. Still baffled by the sudden kindness and warmth we experienced, Mary greeted us at the main door with two glasses of prosecco. And that was just the beginning of a wonderful time that included a delicious dinner and breakfast, lovely conversations and warmth and care. The next day, while being on the Beara Way again, we got a call from Mary because she had noticed online that our next B&B got flooded (which ultimately was fine) and cared about where we would stay for the night and offered to pick us up again. We cannot recommend staying at Seavilla enough. It's a lovely place and if you get a chance to spend some time with Mary and John, you definitely should. We hope to be back there at some time!
Traveled two hundred and fifty miles to Sea Villa and worth every mile. Took a bit of finding but so pleased we did. Met at the door by John who was the perfect host. The weather was not good so happy to stay in. Mary in her bright pink dress and hair was a pure delight to meet. Our room was decorated to their taste and they did a wonderful job on it. John and Mary offers dinner and we went for it. Mussels to die for, they were perhaps the best I have ever had, but then John owns a mussel farm, local salmon, mash and veg made the main course something we will always remember. We had our own kiwi wine which we bought from New Zealand as I knew it was going to be special staying with John and Mary, in spite of rotten weather we were so happy and comfortable. Breakfast was huge and so much to choose from. When we checked out at nine thirty in the morning, Mary informed us she always offers the guests a Creme de Menth after dinner, she said would you like one now, we didn't, but what an enchanting way to leave a place we will never ever forget, we must return again

Mary & John made us feel home in the wonderful B&B from the very first minute. The rooms are nice & cosy. The breakfast and dinner take place in their lovely dining area where we have been spoiled with delicious meals. Tables are wonderfully decorated.
John invited us for mussels and we had the chance to accompany him on a boat trip to his mussel farm. Never ever had such fresh mussels.
We've been overwhelmed with many advices on things to see/do and place to discover. Can only recommend this place as TOP. Thank you for all your hospitality!

We decided to stay here on a whim and it was the best! If you're looking for that true Irish hospitality then book here. Beara peninsula is so overlooked and there is so much to offer in the area, especially for the outdoor enthusiast. John & Mary are the best! Feels like we may have made friends for life. Thank You, hopefully see you sooner than later.

I am recently back from my tenth visit to Seavilla, Ardgroom, since the late 1990s, and its overall excellence has never changed in all those years. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and frequently renewed; the beds are very comfortable, and bathroom, tv and lighting etc all highly suitable. Breakfasts are varied as to menu, but all are delicious and plentiful, and dinner likewise - I have come back heavier! Just to mention one, the French toast is "to die for"! As to the surrounding area, every time I come back, I marvel at how beautiful the whole Beara peninsula is, the most beautiful location I know. But the best feature of Seavilla by far is its hosts: John Gerard and Mary are two of the nicest and kindest people I have ever met, and their treatment of guests makes them like family. Seavilla is like a home from home.

John and Mary are purpose made to provide an exquisite B&B experience and believe me they do. On every criteria they score max and deserve a bonus. Facilities are perfect, very clean and even sumptuous. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and most of all the warmth and friendliness of the hosts is hard to say goodbye to when you leave. Don't miss this gem if you're within a hundred miles of it. Thank you John and Mary and good luck to you.

Sea Villa B&B is a charming b&b in with lovely rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast was fantastic but dinner was the real treat. Johns mussels were some of the best and were picked from his farm the same day, and Mary's baked Brie was delicious. John and Mary were two of the most kind and welcoming hosts I have yet to meet, they went out of their way to pick us up from lauragh after we finished our hiking for the day and dropped us off the following morning. John even showed us his mussel farm on the way back to Lauragh. They make every guest feel like one of the family and I was almost sad to leave. I hope to visit again some day.

I had the pleasure of staying with John and Mary in their immaculate B&B. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished with a wonderful view. They welcomed me into their home and made me feel like one of the family. Breakfast was delicious with local produce and catered for all dietary needs. I availed of evening meal and the food and service was of exceptional standard. I have been fortunate to stay in many 5 star hotels but it is impossible to replicate the warmth, homeliness and ambiance of Sea Villa. My daughter and I had the pleasure of a boat trip. (see close to B&B) with John to view his mussel farming. What a wonderful experience! I'm already looking forward to returning there with my family.
